Body Movement & Salsa Style

Avoid The Robot Look

One of the biggest giveaways of your beginner status is not what you think.

It’s not your lack of confidence.

It’s not that you don’t know many moves.

It’s not even that you’re wearing the wrong shoes…

It’s the fact that your dancing looks stiff, and somewhat robotic.

However, if you can start to integrate some body motion and Salsa style into your movement, people may not even notice the other stuff.

Move Your Body...

Salsa Style doesn’t exist without body movement!

It Won’t Take Forever

There are some who will tell you that it takes hours in front of a mirror and years of practice to get an authentic Salsa look.

And I won’t lie, it doesn’t happen overnight.

But very few social dancers take the trouble to work on this, so with a little bit of regular practice, your body movement can be good enough to stand out in a good way on the dance floor in a relatively short space of time.

It’s Natural

If you’ve seen professional Latin dancers on TV, you could assume that the the way they move their bodies is over exaggerated and not at all natural.

The good news is we don’t want you to look like like that.

The body movement for a social dancer is based upon how your body naturally moves.

The problem for most adults is that their bodies have forgotten how to do that.

When you can dance with your ribcage and hips moving naturally, you can start to create an authentic Cuban Motion in your dancing that won’t look artificial or forced.
